Rigid boxes designed and manufactured in Parsons, Kansas

FORMAT is a focused rigid-box program from Ray Products. We begin with seven established constructions, then specify the dimensions, board, wrap, color, printing, finish and interior around the product.

For original structures, coordinated packaging programs, cut-and-sew products or fulfillment requirements, Ray Products also develops fully custom programs for established brands.

Two production routes

01

FORMAT boxes

Start with one of seven established rigid-box constructions. The structure is already defined; size, board, wrap, color, printing, finish and interior are specified for the product.

02

Custom production

For original structures, larger production programs or projects involving multiple components, Ray Products develops the program around the product, brand and operational requirements.

Projects can include custom rigid boxes, folding board, cut-and-sew products, shopping bags, structural development, warehousing, fulfillment and distribution.

Custom production for larger programs

FORMAT provides a clear starting point, but it is not the limit of Ray Products’ capabilities.

For brands with original structures, higher volumes, coordinated components or ongoing distribution requirements, Ray can manage a broader program from technical development through production and fulfillment.

Rigid-box production, warehousing and fulfillment are centered in Parsons, Kansas. Additional components and production requirements are confirmed for each project.

The box is part of the product

For jewelry, fragrance, confectionery, stationery, apparel and design goods, the box is often the first physical contact with the brand. The weight of the board, the resistance of the lid, the surface of the paper and the way the product sits inside all register before the product is used.

FORMAT gives creative teams control over those details and carries the approved specification into production.

A U.S. production option

Brands have often gone to Asia to obtain this level of choice in rigid packaging. FORMAT provides another route: seven established box constructions, a broad material and finishing range, and production at a U.S. factory.

The established structure gives each project a proven starting point, while the proportion, surface, color, decoration and interior are specified around the product. This is not a stock box with a logo added. It is packaging produced for the brand by Ray Products in Parsons, Kansas.

The advantage is not origin alone. Color and texture are approved from physical materials, production requirements are confirmed with the quote, and the company presenting the box is the company responsible for making it.

From product to production

A strong box begins with the product it needs to hold. FORMAT provides a practical route through structure, materials, approval and manufacturing.

    Define the product

Tell us what the box will hold, its dimensions and weight, the intended use, quantity and target delivery date.

  2. 02

    Specify the box

Select one of seven established FORMAT constructions. We then establish the finished size, board, wrap, color, printing, finish and interior requirements.

  3. 03

    Review and approve

Production timing, minimum quantity and sampling requirements are confirmed with the quote. Artwork, materials and required physical samples are reviewed before production approval.

  4. 04

    Manufacture

Ray Products manufactures the approved box at its Parsons, Kansas facility. Packing and delivery requirements are confirmed with the order.

Materials and finishes

Choose a smooth, textured, embossed or fully printed wrap, then specify printing, foil stamping, embossing, debossing and the interior.
